Youth space

The proposed youth space is located on the edge of the entertainment and food precinct of the town centre. This location will help create a connection between the recreational activities of the town centre and the potential activities of the youth space.

We would like to hear what the community wants to see in the youth space. The current concept is based on feedback obtained by the Selwyn Youth Council from Selwyn district schools. This proposed concept currently shows the following examples:

• Half court netball and basketball
• Parkour ball experience
• Hang-out spaces and seating
• Skate area
• Provision for sound and music
• Dance mat
• Small performance deck with sound
• Table tennis
• Elevated seating for views
• Drinking fountain
