We received 169 completed responses to the survey – thanks for your feedback!
The Executive Leadership Team is now looking at the findings, and your input will help us consider how we might support different ways of working in the future. We’ll be reporting the results around mid-July.

Thanks for taking the time to complete this survey on new ways of working.

As part of our thinking about our organisational strategy, we’re asking all staff to complete this survey, to get your feedback on:

  • How can we build on our newly acquired increased digital confidence and competence, using technology to improve the customer experience and enhance operational efficiencies?
  • How can we make the most of positive feedback from our people on the opportunity they had during lockdown on working in different ways?

The survey is anonymous and confidential, and the information will be used in a general sense to help inform our thinking about future directions. The survey will be open until Friday 26 June. Initial findings from the survey will reported to ELT, and the results made available to staff, in mid-July.

The Executive Leadership Team is immensely proud of how our people responded during the Covid-19 lockdown and embraced ‘Being Brave and Thinking Differently’. We became more digitally confident and competent, we were innovative about how we delivered services to our customers, we saw examples of amazing environmental recovery and many of our people discovered they really enjoyed working from home.

Prior to lockdown, ELT were working on the organisational strategy and we recognised that we needed to collectively focus our attention on a number of key areas, including embracing digital solutions, as well as improving operational efficiency. We also want to continue to strengthen our workplace culture to enable all our people to be at their best.

We have a real opportunity now to capitalise on working differently – as we have over the last few weeks – and to reconsider how we do things. To help us find a way forward that will be positive for our people and our customers, we are looking for your input and ideas. This will feed into our organisational strategy.

We are asking all staff to complete this survey, to get your feedback on:

    • How can we build on our newly acquired increased digital confidence and competence, using technology to improve the customer experience and enhance operational efficiencies?
    • How can we make the most of positive feedback from our people on the opportunity they had during lockdown on working in different ways?

A few other points to keep in mind:

    • The way forward will likely be a process of gradual steps – it may not be possible to make wholesale changes overnight. But let’s make a start!
    • We need to make sure that any solutions we put in place meet your needs as staff – but also meet the needs of our customers and communities. It’s important we continue to work in ways that don’t diminish our levels of service.
    • We’re also conscious that changes like working from home or flexible hours will suit some parts of our organisation more than others, so we’ll need to make sure these options are fair and sustainable.
    • While changes in the way we work may bring about savings and environmental gains, there may also be costs associated with some changes, and we’ll need to work our way through these issues, considering both benefits and costs.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey at the link on this page. The survey is anonymous and confidential, and the information will be used in a general sense to help inform our thinking about future directions.

If you have any questions about this survey, please contact your ELT member.
