Celebrate the vibrant diversity of Selwyn at CultureFest 2025 — a free, family-friendly festival showcasing the many cultures that call our district home.
Enjoy a colourful day of cultural performances, traditional and contemporary music and dance, delicious food from around the world, interactive workshops, kids’ activities, and a bustling global marketplace. With more than 30 cultures represented, CultureFest offers a unique chance to learn, share, and connect through the rich traditions that make Selwyn special.

CultureFest is a free community event that celebrates Selwyn’s growing diversity through cultural performances, traditional games, crafts, interactive activities, and ethnic foods.The event aims to foster cultural understanding by encouraging residents to actively learn about the many cultures within our community. Participants will be asked to share information about their culture. This can include displaying national colours, providing the history behind a performance or activity, or sharing the origins of traditional foods.
We strongly encourage all participants to creatively decorate their stalls to reflect their culture. Vibrant, engaging, and culturally rich displays greatly enhance the visitor experience.
Priority will be given to groups and organisations based in Selwyn, though those from outside the district who are actively involved in the community may also be considered.
