This first phase of public consultation runs from Wednesday 10 January to Wednesday 13 February.

Design and features

We want to know what kinds of features you would like to have at the new West Melton skatepark.

By way of example the newly finished Lincoln skate park, located outside the front of the Lincoln Event Centre, has a small bowl for learners leading to an intermediate bowl which has lots of different carve lines as well as air and transfer lines. Street features include both large and small hubba, ledges and rails. The existing 1200mm quarter pipe will remain. Check out Lincoln skatepark to get your ideas flowing for the new West Melton skatepark.

Your ideas will help our designers come up with a suitable design.

Location of the new skatepark

We're consulting on four locations where the new skatepark could be built:

1. West Melton Domain, in close proximity to the West Melton Community and Recreation Centre

2. The reserve on West View Crescent joining West Melton Primary

3. Brinsworth Reserve on Brinsworth Avenue

4. Retford Common Reserve, Rotherham Drive, Retford Common and Brampton Drive.

(Please see maps of the possible locations under 'surveys and forms' below).

Keep an eye on this page for updates. The next phase will be to seek feedback on the detailed final design.

Any questions can be directed to Council Community Projects and Facilities manager Cam Warr: reserves@selwyn.govt.nz.
