Consultation has concluded

This consultation has concluded.

Selwyn District Council and the Castle Hill Residents Association are working with landscape architect Graham Densem on a comprehensive review of the current management plan for the Castle Hill Village reserves. A reserve management plan provides a vision for future management, development and expenditure for a particular reserve.

As part of the review of the current plan there have been a number of consultations with the local community to date. We’re now seeking feedback from all property owners and residents in Castle Hill Village on the proposed landscaping, in particular on proposed plantings close to their property.

The changes we are seeking feedback on include a series of proposed landscape concepts for different parts of the village, showing how reserves may be developed in future. It is anticipated that this landscaping will set the basis for any re-planting following the removal of wilding pine species.

Next steps

The received feedback will inform the new reserve management plan which is expected to go out formal consultation by April next year.

Please have a read of the documents before completing the feedback form if you are not familiar with them:

You can also read more information about the proposed landscaping plans.

The new Reserve Management Plan (subject to final Council decision) will allow the Council to take responsibility of any future tree removals.
